Sean Lipsky has 19 years of litigation experience focusing primarily on complex commercial litigation, construction litigation including bond and lien claims, business transactions, shareholder and partnership disputes, estate disputes and tax litigation.
Sean co-authored the partnership chapter in a New Jersey commercial litigation practice guide and is a member of the Associated General Contractors of New York, the New Jersey State and Bergen County Bar Associations. Sean previously served on the Bergen County Bar Association Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee. He graduated cum laude from the University of Florida and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Sean is licensed in New Jersey and New York.
With more than 29 years of experience advising companies and individuals, Peter handles a wide range of matters, including commercial litigation, business and contract disputes, construction litigation, commercial collections, consumer fraud litigation, wrongful termination and employment severance matters. He represents clients in the state and federal courts in New Jersey at the trial level, in the appellate courts in New Jersey and in the state and federal courts in New York (appearing pro hac vice). Peter has served since 2011 as Chair of the Glen Ridge Historic Preservation Commission, which oversees the protection, conservation and enhancement of landmarks and properties in the Borough's Historic District, which comprises approximately 90 percent of the town. He has been a member of the Commission since 2006.
Peter also practices with Herrigel & Herrigel LLC in Montclair, New Jersey, a firm he founded in 2013. Previously, Peter was with Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard, P.A., Sternlieb & Dowd, LLC and Pitney, Hardin, Kipp & Szuch. Peter has been affiliated with Bob Dowd for more than 15 years. Peter earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law - Camden, with high honors, in 1989, and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado in 1985. Mr. Herrigel is licensed to practice law in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Elena Portales' practice focuses primarily on estate planning and estate administration. She also has a background in business and financial services litigation and has represented Fortune 500 and family business clients in complex commercial litigation matters including estate and contract disputes, consumer fraud claims, financial services matters, partnership and shareholder disputes, employment disputes and insurance coverage claims.
Elena was formerly with Reed Smith, LLP, one of the world's leading international law firms where she represented Fortune 500 companies in commercial litigation matters. Elena graduated cum laude from the University of Florida and received her Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from Rutgers University. She is fluent in Spanish. Elena is licensed in New Jersey and New York.
Edward Grossi devotes his practice to litigating all types of business and personal disputes. He has experience litigating complex commercial actions, in addition to professional-malpractice and consumer-fraud claims, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. He has had primary responsibility for jury and bench trials in New York and New Jersey in both state and federal courts, and recently obtained on behalf of his client a nearly $1 million judgment following a jury trial. Ed also has extensive experience at the Appellate level, having argued before both the New Jersey Supreme Court and repeatedly before the New Jersey Appellate Division.
In addition to his litigation practice, Ed advises and represents private and non-profit businesses.
Ed also serves as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law on matters regarding legal malpractice and professional ethics. He has spoken at seminars on the issues of attorney liability to third parties, and he is currently a member of the District V-B Ethics Committee in New Jersey.
Licensed in both New Jersey and New York, Ed is a member of the New Jersey and New York Bar Associations, Bergen County Bar Association, New Jersey Association for Justice, and is a graduate of the Morris Pashman Inns of Court. He holds degrees from Wake Forest University School of Law and Cornell University.
